Doumassi

At the age of six years old this female gorilla was separated from her family and found herself wandering into the village of Doumassi in the south of Cameroon. With the threat of her being harmed if she continued to live near humans, the decision was made to bring her to the Ape Action Africa sanctuary. Since arriving at the sanctuary Doumassi has been able to reconnect and form special bonds with other gorillas, giving her a family once again.
