Things to do in a group

  • Why not host a coffee morning, afternoon tea, or evening dinner party for your family, friends, or colleagues and spend some quality time sharing Ape Action Africa stories and photographs from our website?

  • Bingo! It doesn't have to be a numbers game; you could use photographs of our primates and see who can get 5 chimpanzees in a row first!

  • Carol Singing - Spread Christmas cheer, as well as our conservation message, and collect donations at the same time!

  • Get together for a knees-up in aid of our great apes! Host a disco or ballroom event and get your family and friends to donate while they dance!

  • Get the whole family, community, or workplace involved in celebrating one day dedicated to the world's primates. Host a street or office party, get people to come in fancy dress and offer your face painting, juggling, or DJ skills to keep the crowds entertained.

World Chimpanzee Day: 14th July
International Primate Day: 1st September
World Gorilla Day: 24th September
World Monkey Day: 14th December

  • Host a games tournament in the office - Get colleagues to play against each other for an entry fee, and for the winners, there are bragging rights at the end of the day!

  • Celebrate Cameroon's National Day (20th May)! Dress in the flag's striking green, red and gold colours and cook up some delicious Ndolé while sharing the stories about the incredible work being completed in Cameroon's largest primate sanctuary! ;o)

  • Karaoke! - It's time to warm up those singing voices and get ready for a night of karaoke. Love it or hate it, it's something everyone can join in with and raise money for our primates while raising the roof!! You can find songs online if you don't have all the equipment!

  • Ladies Day/ Ladies who lunch! Get your female friends together and throw a ladies day (or evening). The first challenge will be deciding which cocktails and canapés to have, followed by the challenge of deciding what to wear and then ask each guest to donate to our charity while you share some of the stories from our website!

  • Quiz night - Chose your theme and got working on those questions. You host the night, and guests pay to play. Simple... but the questions might not be. Why not add a raffle or sweepstake while people are there? Just charge a fee for tickets to win a prize, or pay for one guess, for example, 'How many sweets in the jar?' Whoever is the closest wins the prize while you donate the money raised.
