Chessington hosts an after hours zoo adventure!
On Friday 25 June Chessington Zoo will open its gates ‘after hours’ for an extra special adventure. Head to the Zoo between 6pm and 10pm where Zoo Keepers will be on hand throughout the evening to answer questions about the wide range of species at the park. Every penny raised goes to charities, and we are delighted that we are one of them!
Activities throughout the evening include animal presentations, meet n' greets and a special falconry display by Arran's Owls and the chance to bid for top prizes including a Zoo Keeper for the Day experience or a cuddle with a Sealion.
Local charities and societies including Lower Mole Conservation Trust, Local Woodsman (making hazel hurdles), Surrey Amphibian and Reptile Group (SARG) and Surrey Beekeepers Association will also be at the event with lots of information and activities to help you learn about their conservation efforts and how you can help. If you want to know more about conservation, meet a Zoo Keeper, watch the sunset over the Wanyama Village & Reserve or simply visit the park after hours, then this is a night not to be missed! Entry is only £5 with every penny going to charity.

Marc Boardman, Zoo Manager says, “The conservation of wild species is extremely important to Chessington World of Adventures and we really hope that as many people as possible come along on the evening and help us to support these great charities in the plight to protect our plant.” All money collected on the evening will be donated equally to Ape Action Africa, the Marine Conservation Society, World Land Trust and EAZA’s European Carnivore Campaign, this includes all entrance fees, auction items, a percentage of commercial sales, plus all staff working on the evening will be donating their wages to the cause. Every penny counts.
