Mobile Phone Recycling

There are up to 90 million unused mobile phones stored away in uk houses. With the help of a recycling company we want to encourage people to recycle their old mobiles. For every mobile phone we receive, Ape Action Africa will receive up to £10 – regardless of its age or condition.

Mobile phones contain coltan, a dull black metallic mineral of which 80% is extracted from the forests of the Congo Basin, the home to lowland gorillas. This mining has led to widespread deforestation, habitat destruction and an increase in illegal poaching and the bush-meat trade.

By recycling unused phones you will not only be helping to save these gorillas but also saving the environment as well!!

You can also recycle printer cartridges, PDA’s, Sat Nav devices, MP3 players and digital cameras.
